Originally, the scene where Diane is invaded by an invisible force and dragged up the walls was more darker. It was more relavent that she was actually being raped by the force, and a stain grows on the wall, which breathes and grows. The scene was re-shot without the stains and Diane's movements were tamed down. | |

A scene was filmed showing Marty enter the kid's room and being bitten by the force. In the film, we only see the wound. The story going on with the family was much too important to cut away from, so the scene was cut. The script includes furthure dialogue in the bedroom scene where Steve and Diane are discussing the pool. Steve says it would be good for business after Diane suggests that it a pool isn't needed. The scene where Diane shows Steve the chair gag there was longer with more dialogue. Steve was looking for a magnet under the chair, and after he looks he expresses his dislike for Pizza Hut. Diane says that she could not just tell him, that she had to show him. Steve also suggests that the quake is related to the chair gag. Carol Anne then shoots toward the wall and crashes. When the parents run towards her, she says "You promised pizza!" Since these moments have been taken out of the movie, there is a strange jumpcut in the film. The scene in the bedroom where Steve and Diane discuss the recent ghoulish activity in the kitchen was a little bit longer with dialogue relating to Carol Anne crashing into the wall. Obviously, this dialogue was removed because that scene was removed. There was a moment where Dr. Lesh mentions teleportation to the Freelings,to which Robbie replied "Like when Spock beams up Capt. Kirk on Star Trek?" The script has a scene in the kitchen where Steve and Diane are talking to Robbie about him leaving. There was a scene with Diane in her bedroom, where she encounters a small stain growing on the wall. She looks at it and then decides to hang a picture over it. The script included a scene where Dr. Lesh discusses the events with a professor at a University, who suggests using Tangina. In the script, there's a scene where Tangina sets herself up and smiles at the camera. |
